Calem Port - One of Many

Calem Port Lodge is one of many located in Gaia located across the river from Lisbon. The grapes are grown in the Douro River valley close to the border of Spain and historically the crushed grapes came down by boat. Sugar brandy is added to stop fermentation, aging is done in barrels, and the finished port is shipped out from the lodges. Just like with any time you have a drink with others, we made new friends.

Now that we are overwintering in Lagos, Portugal we have decided to take advantage of the time and do some overland traveling.
