The Middle Lake

After walking about a half mile down the road we turned down the driveway of the Muckross Hotel. The road brought us out to this lake. The Macgillycuddy Reeks rise in the background. We spent some time walking around the hotel grounds and along the shoreline. At one point we bumped into a little old lady who turned out to be an ex-nun who grew up in this area but has since moved to San Francisco. She was lamenting how much Ireland has changed for the worst and how money-concious and sinful the youth have become. I wonder what she thinks of San Francisco?
First Day (on the Road to Killarney)

We were traveling with a much smaller group this trip. Gail assembled a group of 18 people for our tour of Ireland, Scotland and England. We were concerned that EF might merge our group with another smaller group in order to fill a 50 person bus, but she was assured that we were going to be left on our own.
