I blog from La Rochelle where centuries ago much of France's trade with the new World took place, i.e., the West Indies, Canada and Louisanna. Our hotel is loated in the centre of the action and just five minutes walk from the old city and harbour. Stores and restaurants line the area and people mill about enjoying the seaside ambience.
