Honfleur in the eveningHonfleur in the eveningHonfleur in the evening

We had a great evening meal at water\'s edge here.
I blog from La Rochelle where centuries ago much of France's trade with the new World took place, i.e., the West Indies, Canada and Louisanna. Our hotel is loated in the centre of the action and just five minutes walk from the old city and harbour. Stores and restaurants line the area and people mill about enjoying the seaside ambience. Our hotel once housed the first King of France.

One of my favourite places is Honfleur, another coastal town near Le Harve. It's magical charm captivated me and along with my wife (who did not eat shellfish) I enjoyed a platter of seafood comprising baby lobster, shrimps, clams, periwinkles, whelks and oysters. It was simply magnificent amidst the medieval buildings casting their reflections into the tranquil waters of the harbour.

This is surely a place to return to.
