Mount Victoria

A very cute and quiet neighborhood. My friend Henrik has "Summertime Wellington" by Marianne Muggeridge on his wall and I had the exact same painting on the wall in my room at the B&B. It became a bit of an obsession for me to try to figure out exactly where she painted it from. It must have been from one of the houses on the mid-left side of this shot, but although I spent at least an hour trying to find the spot, I couldn't really get the houses to match :)

Hi! Just stumbled across this while trying to find a jpeg of Marianne Muggeridge's painting. Anyway, I haven't been quite able to work out where your photo is taken from, but you're up a bit too high. I'm not even sure if you're still in Wellington so this may be irrelevant, but my guess is that it's painted from the Claremont Grove area, where I used to live. This: http://i44.tinypic.com/34etgrk.jpg was the view from our backyard, and it /almost/ matches. Spent a while walking up and down different steps in the street trying to find the right perspective, but my guess is it was either done from a building that doesn't exist anymore (was in the 80s anyway I think) or from a back section off Majoribanks or Brougham Streets. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi! http://www.niceties.co.nz
