Hi! Just stumbled across this while trying to find a jpeg of Marianne Muggeridge's painting. Anyway, I haven't been quite able to work out where your photo is taken from, but you're up a bit too high. I'm not even sure if you're still in Wellington so this may be irrelevant, but my guess is that it's painted from the Claremont Grove area, where I used to live. This: http://i44.tinypic.com/34etgrk.jpg was the view from our backyard, and it /almost/ matches. Spent a while walking up and down different steps in the street trying to find the right perspective, but my guess is it was either done from a building that doesn't exist anymore (was in the 80s anyway I think) or from a back section off Majoribanks or Brougham Streets. Anyway, just thought I'd say hi! http://www.niceties.co.nz
LMAO! Love your blog! What a wonderful blog - and I can so relate to the pygmy sea horse and underwater photographers thing having just come back from Bunakin. Will be heading to Bangka in January so will have a look for Nelly :)
Thanks Ah, Bunaken is wonderful isn't it. I stayed at Blue Bay Divers at Bangka and I can recommend the place. The guides weren't the best, but I took my issues to the owner and she promptly dealt with it.
Give Nelly a hug from me :)
Featured photo I thought you might like to know, this photo is currently featured on the Front Page. You would need to get lucky to see it there though, as the photos only feature there for a few minutes at a time. The ones that get featured, are the most highly rated ones on TravelBlog. :)
Not mine Hi Chris and Nikki
As I mention in the blog these photos were taken by my Finnish dive buddy Kari, so he should have all the credit.
I fully agree. His pictures are amazing and it is worth noting that all the photos here are un-edited. He had a pretty nice rig with two external strobes and an amazing talent, technique and patience. Add to that the amazing diversity that you find around Sulawesi and then you get shots like these.
Thanks for reading and watching
Jens
Very funny, I have had many hours also watching geckos, funniest moment was 2 having an amorous moment on a ceiling, they lost their footing in all the excitement and fell the 9 feet to the floor never losing their stride, the fall took nothing out of them and their fun continued unabated, hardy little f****rs, Loving your blogs, good luck to you.
LOL Loving the "Harper's Index type of list" (som vi tøser nok mest kender fra Bridget Jones :-). Min klare favorit er: "Chickens killed after moderate pressure from insane Cambodian girl: 1". LOL.
Tak for god underholdning, Busse. Og held med jobsøgningen!!!

Awesome blog I enjoyed your blog so much.. had a mix of everything. I will be travelling to Cambodia for the first time in February, would it be possible to share Soluy's contact info with me?
Regards, Ryan
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience Jens. I know everyone had a very unique 10 days, but I know there were many things that we all shared, and your blog captures many of those aspects!! Cheers!
WOW Ralle, you have no idea how much a small comment like that means to me. I'm so happy that you like this. And I will see you soon back home! Tour-de-Mårslet coming up.
Haha...great stuff. Had a long break with your blog - and coming back to it again, I was pretty amazed. You're becoming quite a writer, you know that? =)
Thanks @ Ulla: Don't worry about my looks. I'm an undercover meditating hippie now. And yes, it is extremely helpful.
@ Jenny: Thanks for the praise. Funny how similar our experience was :) And you have done it twice!
I will use this blog to keep you all posted about where I am and what I am doing. I will do my best to update it frequently and post some of my best photos and entertaining stories. But I will also use it to post some quite self-centered musings about myself and the world (see below), but if that sounds OK to you, then subscribe to the blog (There is button on the right for this). ... full info

Love this blog! Did a Vipassana course myself recently but would have loved to have the pinecone army around :)
