Redonda
No, it is not the Prudential Rock – it is Redonda. It lies between Montserrat & Nevis. It is one mile long and 1,000 feet high. Phosphates were mined here from 1865 to 1914. Believe it or not 100 people worked on the island using two-bucket cable cars so the weight of up-going load was balanced with seawater. There were even houses and a wharf on the top. In looking at it, not quite sure how they ever approached it as it appears formidable.
