Viva Guatemala, Viva Belgica
After all these days without news it is a relief to read your latest posting. Apparently you are not suffering from the combination... education and fulfilling a world tour. On the contrary, you seem to enjoy every bit of your prolonged stay in San Pedro. Even considering for a while to stay in San Pedro forever but then realizing that this would create some kind of panic at this end of the world and therfore choose to continue your mission ? As a matter of fact you might decide to move on already at the end of this week and then very typical but charming you leave us completely in the dark with your following itinerary. Will it really be so much more adventurous? I am anxious to read what you are exactly planning to do. How is the study of the Spanish language proceeding ? Do you feel yourself more comfortable to get engaged into a conversation with the local people? Are you studying with an English/Spanish dictionary ? Did you feel that earth quake in Costa Rica? I heard it on the radio but probably it wasn't felt in Guatemala. Your bedroom ... well a bit tricky ? I suspect that you are trying to impress the women's association? If not, I confess I am also not functioning so orderly. And then your classroom. If at the time when I was young I could have learned in such a manner, I feel sure that I would have get much more out of my study, but of course it is too late now. Pedro you should write us something about the people overthere. Are they very poor or simply poor? Are they nevertheless happy ? Is it a relatively safe or dangerous neighbourhood ? And about food. Are you eating many things, we really don't know ? What is that Guatemalan national dish ? What about chili con carne ? Did you eat this also ? It is almost noon here. What am I going to eat, for your dad's sake: pasta, meat-bread, peas and bearnaise sauce. I hope it can match up a little bit with what you are going to eat today. Que tengas suerte con su programa de estudios. Hasta la proxima vez Pedro.
