Taking our leave of our comfortable digs at the Vagabond Hotel in San Diego, we loaded up again and headed north. We decided to forgo I-5 as long as possible as we wound our way up the Pacific Coast Highway. Almost as soon as we started the sun came out from the clouds and it got just beautiful.
