I tried finding more explanation of what we were seeing inside here by going to the internet after reading the following, I think we were better off listening to the incomprehensible church janitor: "Beautiful arcades soar to the great clerestory, where, between the windows, are traces of 17th century paintings of saints. The chancel has a trefoiled niche at each side of the east window, and three handsome sedilia." What does that mean?
