Port Campbell

This is the only place you can swim safely on the Great Ocean Rd. It was established in the 1870's and named after Captain Alexander Campbell who was in charge of whaling in Port Fairy. Did you know this limestone coast was formed 10-20 million years ago by millions of tiny marine animal skeletons. This coastline has been pounded by wild seas and fierce winds and sculpted towering rock stacks.

Hi All Thought it was about time I added to the blog again. The Great Ocean Road is a great trek. After our family history tour in Birchip, Donald, Chiltern and Rutherglen located North West of Victoria, it was time to head to the coast.
