After arriving in Jodhpur, we took a rickshaw to a hotel we'd chosen out of our guidebook, only to discover it was under construction, and thus booked. The owner of the hotel (the great-grandson of the maharaja of Jodhpur no less, and with a mustache to match his royal heritage) called another guest house, who came to pick us up, and it was fantastic.
