January 6th 2010 we left mnt maunganui and made our way towards rotorua which is where the thermal road starts, it was a lovely drive and we made our way up the east side of the lake and had a stroll along owhatta falls and then drove into rotorua which is a lovely place, we had to decide which volcanic area to visit so we chose the one where it all comes to the surface and you can walk round it rather than a boat
