Stewart - Hyder, Alaska
August 15th 2009 The Stewart - Hyder area is a very poor area of Alaska. We went there just to walk the famous "Fish Walk" and watch the bears feeding on the Salmon that have come up the river to spawn. We were there for several hours and did not see a single bear. The town of Stewart is in Canada and Hyder is in Alaska so one must go out of Canada into Alaska , then back into Hyder and clear Canadian Customs.
