The famous Fish Walk

The fish walk is well known in Alaska as something to see. The fish walk consists of a deck built above a river where the bears come to feast on the salmon. Many professional photographers set up cameras here to possibly get a photo of a bear eating his salmon.
Stewart - Hyder, Alaska

The Stewart - Hyder area is a very poor area of Alaska. We went there just to walk the famous "Fish Walk" and watch the bears feeding on the Salmon that have come up the river to spawn. We were there for several hours and did not see a single bear. The town of Stewart is in Canada and Hyder is in Alaska so one must go out of Canada into Alaska , then back into Hyder and clear Canadian Customs. ... read more
