Our alarm was set for 3.30 am and we set off for Cairns Airport at 4.00 am to meet Nigel and Michele off their 5.00 am flight. Still dark, the mountain road down from Mossman to Cairns is quite hazardous but very little traffic was coming through at that time of the morning.
