Veliko Tarnovo
June 26th 2006 Do vizhdenie, Bulgaria. My last stop was my favorite, Veliko Tarnovo, the seat of the 2nd Bulgarian empire (they never taught us about the Bulgarian Empires in school.) It is a very pretty city, perched up on the hills, red roofs, and a massive fortress right next to it that is fun to climb around, and is host to a cheesy lightshow at night.
