Castles, lakes and the Black Forest August 21st 2009 Our short visit to southern Germany turned out to be a mixed bag for us on this trip.
We entered via Austria and made our way past some beautiful lakes towards the town of Fussen. Like everyone else, we went to the area to visit the famous Neuschwanstein Castles. This fairytale castle was apparently the inspiration for the castle at Disneyland!

A couple of mid 20 year olds, started this blog back in 2006. We left our homeland of New Zealand and set off on our trip of a lifetime.
These entries follow our travels from our New Zealand to London and back again. Total geeks - no Las Vegas or full moon parties here. We used '1001 Natural wonders' to plan our trips. Sometimes riding 5 hours on the back of a motorbike to see a waterfall or random rock formation.
