The vaka in the distance, looking over the outrigger - ama. We hung around for a bit waiting for it to come to us but then figured out that they were stalling as the ceremony got ready.

Alright so this was pretty sweet. About a week or two before I came out here a vaka (meaning canoe) went on a voyage to Samoa. The boat is a huge catamaran of traditional design made in the 90’s.
