Do it now! Do it now to summarize your whole year. Doesn't have to be chronological--just the highlights. Do it for who might enjoy it 5 years or 50 years from now. We are all curious! You'll be glad you did.
DO IT. doooo it. if only for no one other than yourself. seriously, in a year or three years or ten years you'll be glad you wrote down and commemorated everything. DO IT.
HA HILARIOUS. so clever. but then again, couldn't you have just let the guy have his day? he can't use his legs for god's sake, you could've just let him win one silly race!
but i probably would have done the same thing.
yowza that sucks. seriously. asshole kid.
when shit like this happens and it's just damn bad luck, i like to think that everything balances itself in the end... so hopefully this incident was balanced by something amazingly lucky later on, although it could be much later on...
thanks for reminding me... that i need to appreciate it when "time just goes a little slower" too...
I've gotten really frustrated a couple times with Brazil when things just don't happen, or happen really late, or just don't make sense... but i guess in comparison to western capitalist-minded urgency and discipline, it can be nice...

ok i might be done now.
that was GREAT! i was seriously doubling over in laughter, sitting by myself in my dorm room, watching that video, and looking at these photos. so great. so weird. you did a fine job, hope your arms were ok afterwards!
(hope NZ is going well!)
awesommmme aww i love seeing your creative side come out! we should definitely pursue a songwriting career for you. i would suggest changing "Except to paddle for an outrigger club" to "paddle an outrigger canoe" though to rhyme with "Union boy do" - perfect, right?! yeah.
Someone has too much time on his hands. Do you need me to send you Heroes season 3 or Southpark or something? Btw, this new show called True Blood is awesome.
Squirrels>Chickens Squirrels are so much cooler than chicken. You don't see chickens being sneaky and stealing human food. Why? because they're not as awesome.
You're awesome Andy, I'm all caught up. Even though I know nothing of rowing or boats, it is very entertaining. I hope you get to build something soon. You are my hero.

ahhhh, amazing! looks sweet krauss! hope you're enjoying the beaches... please swim in those perfect coves for me! (haha bet you do all the time) good luck!
finally! Sunglasses!!! It's been a LOT more than 5 or 6 years since you've worn sunglasses--like maybe never, or so. Glad you now have the cool beach bum look. Photography is great--love your subject matter--dogs, brides and portopotties. Now if you can only get them all into one shot. Beach, of course, is simply beautiful, but your smiling mug is better!
THIS > Macy's thanksgiving day parade.
I wish they had drunk germans hanging off cranes in the Macy's parade.
btw, i am dissapointed that the scientology tent did not come with a life size cardboard cut-out of Mr. Cruise with his thumbs up or something. i means seriously... who would join scientology without celebrity endorsement?
Jandals Jandals = Sandals = Flipflops
I think it's an Aussie phrase, but it's pretty universal down here. Call them anything else and there will be a pause as they interpret.
helloooo oh hi! so i have been reading your entries, just not commenting yet. i can't believe you run everywhere. you crazy. (when i have more time i'll have to tell you about the 50-mile 24-hour hike that a bunch of my dartmouth friends just did).
but right now i just wanted to say that Tonga came up in my geography reading just now!: "By the end of the nineteenth century, the entire Pacific Island region (one third of the surface of the earth) had been carved up by Western colonial powers. Only the tiny island kingdom of Tonga retained an indigenous polity." Ha! cool beans.
i'll comment more later, gotta finish my homework right now, but glad to hear everything is going well! (and skipping is a totally legit form of getting around. i say so.)
I'm setting this up to show my travels from 2008-2009 for the Watson Fellowship. For my fellowship I'll be kickin around the South Pacific learning about outrigger canoes: how they're built, what makes 'em go fast, and how I can make them go fast. I'm planning on visiting the Cook Islands, Tahiti, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, and possibly the Marshall Islands. If you have any tips please let me know!
This blog includes all sorts of stuff. Some of the entries are like a diary entry, telling what's been happening recently. Some are a little story, a different way of saying what's going on.... full info
