We'd heard Chengdu was a city with big pollution problems. In fact, according to the Rough Guide, 8 of the 10 most polluted cities in the world are to be found in China, though where Chengdu ranks exactly within the 8 i can't say. I can say however, that our flight from the idyllic Yangshuo was delayed for 4 hours - and the reason first given on the boards was 'Pollution' at Chengdu. I wondered ... read more
