Highway 178 from Bakersfield along the Kern River and Greenhorn Mountains was the most beautiful road we've been on this trip. The rocky hillsides and mountains on either side with the Kern River off to the side below was gorgeous. I admit, the road was pretty twisty, but so delightful.
