Old Hotel in Reinhardshagen

We stop for a coffee break in this large and empty hotel by a bike ferry stop on the Weser. Quite a lovely set up with restaurant and terrasse looking onto the river. But sadly out of fashion. We are the only guests in the cafe and the lights are only turned on above where we sit.

We get back on our bikes after overdoing the fatty foods and contemporary art of Kassel. The ride is very pleasant as we are finally going downhill! as we follow first the Fulda out of Hessen where it joins the Weser through Lower Saxony en route to the North Sea.
