Deer feeding at Cades Cove

This was shot at Cades Cove on the 11 mile loop drive around . Get there early at first light , around 6 AM ! by 8AM they have eaten and have traveled back up into the mountains to bed down ! This drive is closed on two diffrent days of the week for biking so be sure to check with the park as to what days thoes are . You will see evrything from deer , to black bear , to wild rabbit , fox's wild birds , and there is also a bit of wounderful history of early settlers of the area with fantastic stories to be heard and still standing cabin homes and farms for viewing ! Rangers are avaiable with printed material for the history coupled with org photos !

This photo was taken in June of 2007 , and shows the rewards i recieved when i finally reached the end of a 2 1/2 mile hike up the mountain trail in Cades Cove . This is one of many great falls that can be seen in the smokies ! The trail is a moderate hike but not suitable for young children unless you are good at piggy backing lol !
