Rode the 300 kms to Kings Canyon yesterday and spent today walking all through it. It certainly is understandable why the area was (is) so important to the local people. The area contains several pockets of green, with “ghost” eucalyptus trees and pools hidden in deep clefts in the rock, in the middle of what is otherwise red-grey/green desert.
