a friend from Holland Dear reader, in my search for friends oversees I found this blog about Scott Foote. He is an old friend of mine and would like to contact him. Do you have any idea if I can find him on Facebook or do you have an email adress?
Thanks in advance, Laurette
Whales I know exacltly what you mean when you say "honest".
We were at one of these places and by the time we looked around at the excited call of a tourist, the whale was gone. It made him feel silly and defensive. It's just the luck of the draw.
For us it was enough to be in the ~vicinity~ of the majestic creatures and that made him feel better. We believed him.
Harleys? across the states? We've just discovered this comments section on our blog. It's public! Help . . . But I mean the very thought of Harleys . . .
Yipes. I just discovered this comments section on our blog site. Thanks for writing. Seems your comments will become part of the site unless I specifically delete them . . . Is this crazy or what!
Such a good laugh Couldn't help but give out a big laugh. We are certainly "historic Wells"'
Oh I love your journey. I always go from the last entry to the first so I
end at the middle or beginning, then have to go back to the front. But I
am so struck with how flat the scenery is. The books say so too, but boy
what a long way to go. And the SAND!!! oh my. what hell that looks like.
And I know what picking up a big bike feels like. I think I couldn't do it.
I love you guys and send many hugs,.
Yikes! Yikes--the idea of your motorcycles skidding on wet roads is pretty scary. Riding in the cold rain and sleet is tough for anybody even with tons of experience! Sure wish we could send you some summer sun and dry, smooth roads. I didn't realize Australia was so cold in the winter. Not sure about the equipment you talk about that will let you communicate while riding--a walkie talkie or something close? What's that other thing you mention that's already working? Like a radio?
It's fun to read about McLaren Vale. Glad you got some good warming wine in your systems!!! Helen, we've gotten two postcards from you--thanks so much, it's wonderful to see your familiar handwriting.
love to you both,
Carolyn and Dennis (Dennis is following your blog too).
Dreams come true indeed Now that I've read your "so far" account I have to say that as much as we love you guys our dreams come true are a bit different except of course for all the Ethi food - didn't know there was that contingent down under. You make our "wild" travels seem tame but I'm glad we get to experience what you are doing vicariously at least. So thanks for the blog and watch out for each other you guys!!!
shells on the road? I knew about the McLaren and love that there is a place with that name that
makes wine (it does make things easier), but shells on the road?
that might make riding a bit more difficult, not to mention being run off the
road by another bike. I must say we are eager to hear how things are going,
knowing full well how exhausting and emotionally tense road riding is.
We think of you often and send our love. the triumph is still un registered.
It seems the back tail light has a life of its own and passing the tests have only
come up with failure. Oh well, the bicycles are working fine and we rode 120
miles last weekend to add our part to the MS foundation.
We love you,
Merritt and Tom
Just amazed What an amazing story, and you've practically just begun! So glad you've set up this blog--it's my first and I don't know how these things work, but I thought I'd add a comment just to see what happens to it. By the way--about that beautiful Japanese garden--did the Japanese prisoners build it during WWII?? Please be careful in the snow--and here I was mostly worried about you getting much too hot in the desert! Hope those earplugs work to help the tintinnus, Theo. Would windshields help? I forgot to look carefully to see if you had them in your first pictures and couldn't tell for sure if you had them in later pictures but I don't think so. That Ulysses club sounds great--glad you've found them (and those polite Australan car drivers) so helpful.
Having just spent two wonderful years working in Samoa, we have decided to attempt a longstanding dream of riding around Australia on motorcycles. We hope this website will help make it easier to stay in touch with family and friends. ... full info
