Taj Mahal Facts:

The Taj Mahal was built out of love for the Emperors Wife...it's made of solid marble which was brought to Agra from Rajasthan, some 300km away, by camel, horse and elephant. The structure took 15 years to complete while the rest of the grounds/buildings took the other 5. All carving and stone work was done by hand. The king had also wanted a black Taj build behind this one, where he was to be buried, but construction never went past the foundation since his son jailed him in the Red Fort in retaliation for spending the people's money frivolously. (Not bad for a tour guide that reeked of Rum at 6am! Worth every penny!!)
