Alte Brücke Heidelberg

Karl-Theodor-Brücke or Alte Brücke. Built in 1788 of Neckar sandstone. The 656 foot (200 m) arch bridge crosses the River Neckar and connects the Old Town with the Neuenheim district. "The Old Bridge over the Neckar, constructed by Elector Charles Theodore in 1786-88, is embellished with a statue of the Elector and allegorical groups at each end."--Baedeker 1911 DSC_0042p1

Viking Sigrun docked at Mannheim as the port for shore excursions to Heidelberg. When I think of Heidelberg, Sigmund Romberg's musical The Student Prince immediately comes to mind.
