Is the correct term for this kind of art "fresco"?

My favourite
To answer your question, in my understanding (from when I was dragged around Italy as a child and made to look at religious art), it's a fresco if the painting is done on fresh wet plaster. So essentially the painting becomes part of the fabric of the building rather than being something added on top. I'm sure there are other technical explanations, but that's about the extent of my knowledge :)
