Kościół Ducha Świętego - Church of the Holy Spirit. Built as a Lutheran church in the 18th century following the "Toruń Tumult" of 1724. The tower was added in It has been a Catholic church since 1945. The tower was added in 1899. Rynek Staromiejski 14. Medieval Town of Toruń UNESCO World Heritage site. Inscribed in 1997. "On Dec. 7th, 1724, Burgomaster Rflsner and nine Protestant citizens were beheaded in front of the Rathaus by order of the Polish government, in consequence of religious disturbances in the town, an incident known as the 'Blood Bath of Thorn' ('Thorner Blutbad')".--Baedeker 1910. It was an interesting drive north from Poznań to Toruń, passing through Paczkowo with its rustic railway station, Gniezno with its twin towered church, and then Pierzyska for a highway rest stop.
