Dunluce Castle

Dunluce Castle. Dating of c.1500 for the earliest parts of the castle on the rock promontory by the MacQuillan family. Dunluce was then taken by the MacDonnells in the 1550s, who initiated several phases of expansion and remodeling during the late C16th. Principal fortress of the McDonnells, chiefs of Antrim.
