Stjórnarráðshúsið - Government House. Icelandic Prime Minister's Office. Built in 1761-1771. Used as a prison from 1771 to 1816, the Viceroy's residence and Governor's residence from 1820 to 1904 and the Minister's residence in1904 and Prime Minister's residence from 1917. Reykjavik Day 3 - The National Museum

Susan and I were fortunate to find ourselves with a third day in Reykjavik. Our flight home was not until 8:10 p.m. and our airport transfer not until 4:40 p.m. We planned to use the time by visiting the National Museum of Iceland.
