Each family received 4 kilos of rice, 2 kilos of sugar, 1 kilo of salt, 2 bags of oatmeal, 2 oranges and an extra panettone. At such high altitude, the only crop that grows well is potatoes. Japu had a stream so people could eat trout, but Hatun Q'ero only has a potato crop to sustain the population.
