Physician's Surgery

Nanortalik Open-Air Museum. Stone house built in 1863 as the surgery for Johannes Haberdorff Lytzen. The house has been a hospital in 1916-1940, a town office, a police station and a youth club. It is now houses displays on health care in Nanortalik. Colonial Harbour district. DSC_0866

Caribbean Princess once again lay offshore, now in the Tasermiut Fjord, for the port call at Nanortalik. Nanortalik harbour is not deep enough for ocean-going vessels, so the ship anchored around a rocky peninsula, out of sight of the town. Tenders took some time to reach shore from Caribbean Princess.
