Above 1000m a.s.l. the trail becomes more rocky and the only vegetation is some sort of grass. Below that one can find various bushes and eventually dwarf birches in the valley. The proper pine forests are pretty much absent in these parts. Above 1300m, on the other hand, even the grass disappears, leaving bare rocks.
