The Denniston incline was very interesting, it was a remarkable feat of engineering in its time. It is a shame that they don't preserve and endorses its character but it was awesome to stand by the tracks & imagine the process. The view from this old mine & it's history was a worthwhile experience...but drive up there. We're a bit sceptical about the whole town catching fire after the road was formed...Insurance pay out or ligit? Hmm whatcha think Michael Moore?!

I've attached a photo of the seal colony. At first glance we couldn't see any but then the rocks moved..so it turned into a 'where's Wally' competition. Have a look at the photo & see if you can spot any. We got to see 2 seals charge & baby seals play as well as some lazy ones sunbathing. Dar reckons that they were all the females.

At the end of the day we stopped off at punakaiki where the rocks resemble pancakes. its crazy that mother nature can form things like this in just one little part of the globe..but that's what makes every place different

Great day...until the directions led to an argument (again 😊 )...does that happen everyone?!!
