Again I am desperately trying to catch up with events and will take you back four days to our morning with my cousin Murdo in Dunedin......

Murdo has emigrated here and what a great place he has chosen, the city itself is twinned with Edinburgh, and its bizarre walking around streets named Hanover Street, George street and Castle terrace to name a few. Its really pretty and the beaches are great!

We spent the morning exploring the city, the beaches and walking up the worlds steepest street - no mean feet in 27 degrees. It was great to meet up with family on the other side of the world in a place very similar to Scotland - give or take cracking weather and penguins on the beach!

We left Murdo's company about 3pm and drove the long straightish road to Te Anau which is the gateway to the Fiordlands and very very pretty. I drove the last leg of the trip and was horrified when I saw a bird fly in our path and a knowing thumping sound ...first road kill to me, which was apparently still in the grill when we arrived but G kindly removed it
Me and Murdo, Me and Murdo, Me and Murdo,

( We drove up and walked half way down it was scorching )
to save my tears! 😞(

We just chilled that night with a BBQ and some ( the shame ) ozzy wine....and a walk round the lake where our ankles were devoured by the sandflies, think join the dots - eugh!!
