1: Picton Harbour and Waiwaka Bay 23 secs
After my Swim with Dolphins tour, I got warmed up and dried off and did this little hike on the South East corner of Picton, and was told there were great views up there. The hike was nice and the views were quite nice. Just enough exercise to warrant a trip to the pub for a pint afterwards.

Probably would have been quite comfortable to have stayed here indeed. Just a few steps from the Tirohanga Track trailhead.

There was some good climbing in the first bit of the track.

It was quite lush along most of this trail, at least to the Hilltop View Point where I turned around.

Nice view and not too far from the top at this point.

I never got tired of looking at these.

I found one of these guys just sitting on the trail, and it was a bit injured from what I could tell. It would have much rather been up in the trees making a bunch of racket like all of its siblings.

That small island there just outside of the harbour (actually sits in the Queen Charlotte Sound I believe) is called Mabel Island. Nice view from here.

Waiwaka Bay sits to the North and East of Picton Harbour, or to the right of Picton Harbour from this perspective.

Good look at the town and its harbour to get an idea of how big it is. Pretty easy to see everything in short order, but I was busy the entire time I was in Picton.
