On the way to nelson we stopped off at bouldervines wine cellar for a wine tasting. We got to try 4 different wines for $2, which was quite cheap and our first time doing wine tasting. After this we stopped off at Pelorus bridge. This is a beautiful bit of river, obviously with a bridge over it. Whilst we were here we did the Tawa walk, this was a really short walk through some nice woods.

We arrived in Nelson in the late afternoon so we just did a small walk around town and went to Church hill Pikima. This is a small hill with a nice church on top and you can get a nice view down one of the central streets of Nelson.

On the first full day in Nelson we went to the founders heritage park. This is a small park with buildings based on the original founding village. It also has award winning organic beer, which is very nice. After doing this we just explored the area a little better.

The next day we went to Abel Tasman national park. This is a really stunning place and we decided to do a whole day there. After getting a very early bus, we got a water taxi to the beginning of our walk at Torrent bay. Along the walk we went to see the cleopatra pools, these are really nice clear pools which were only spoilt when a wasp snuck inside my boot and stung my foot. Kirsty went for a dip in the pool but I settled at just having a paddle. The walk ended at Marahau where we got another bus back into Nelson. When we got back from our walk we went and had a look round the twilight markets. These were'nt very big but there was a live band on so it was quite cool.

The next day we had a look around the day time markets and then went for a climb at the local climbing wall.

On our last day in Nelson we walked to the centre of New Zealand. On our way there we stopped off at the Queens gardens, which was a nice little park with lots of ducks. From the centre of NZ there are some amazing views over nelson and some other places and it was well worth the short walk up the hill.
