Road Trip! Rosalie and I planned a trip to the eastern coast of the south island, to Kaikoura, known for its whale watching and dolphins - Rosalie's favourite creatures! Kaikoura is a bit of a fisherman's town, not much more than green hills, cliffs, boats and whaling statues. By the ocean front, there was this walkway that goes through arches made of whale bones. In the parking lots, sea lions could be found lounging. Kaikoura had the most beautiful sun rises! We jumped on a boat with our friends Charlotte and Sienna and went out to sea yesterday and watched for whales. One surfaced next to the boat, splashing water up into the air. It was magical! On the drive home, we stopped at the Moeraki Boulders to get a closer look at one of the world's coolest phenomenons.
