our last look at Wanaka was the Puzzle world, where there are rooms full of illusions, like tilted floors which make you look different heights, and perspective. Also a good maze, which we eventually found our way out of! And so over the Alps again, to Haast on the west coast, ready to run up northwards. The Haast pass was stunning, hanging waterfalls, blue water in the rivers - straight from the glaciers - and wonderful forests. at Haast, you can get a jet boat to take you up the river. What an experience, there is no road up the valley, access by jet only. And the mountains are so huge that you feel tiny.
