Hello
We are now in New Zealand we arrived yesterday the 26th but before i tell you about here i thought i would tell you about the rest of Sydney. Last Sunday we were meant to go to the Blue Mountains but when they arrived they said that there was a problem and they had doubled book and we had to go back and phone them up i was not very happy as i have to get up at 6:30 and i like my sleep. We phoned them up and they said that they were very sorry and could we do the next day that was fine as we had nothing else booked. At this time it was around 8am still very early for me and we had to decide what to do.
We found out about a few markets that was on and the best time to go was in the morning so we set off and the way we walked took us around to the Sydney opera house and we acted like proper tourists and had are pictures taken and took lots of pictures of the place. We then found the market but we were too
early they were still setting up i don’t blame them it was a Sunday!! So we went to a cafe and got a hot chocolate. Once we had finished that everyone was set up and there was lot and lots of people there we walked and there for around 2 hours as there was a lot of stuff. Then we headed to another market the other side of the city but we went through all the main shopping streets and there are hundreds of shops. We only stopped in a few as we could not buy too much as we have to carry it with us around the world. As we were walking around we could see that there was a monorail and i have never been on one so we made a quick stop and we had to go on it. We went in a big circle and it nothing special but i wanted to do it. Anyway we finally arrived at the second market and it was massive they had everything and there was even more people there you almost had to fight to get through everyone. We only spent a bit of time there as we were getting quite tired and still had a long walk home. By the time we got back we were both dead as we had been walking for over 8 hours.
The next day we got up early again to try and go on this trip we were standing there waiting in the cold and they where late we were starting to think that they had forgotten about us but then a 7 seater car pulled up and said that the trip that we were booked on was not running today but then said that we have been moved on to his walk but if was a different type of trip it was the eco trip well we thought that this would be fine as i didn’t want to get up early again. Before we went to the mountains we stopped off at a few places to see kangaroos and he spoke a lot about the plants and animals, both me and Louise really did not care but that was a part of this trip. As we got closer there were some lovely views of the mountains. The guide then said that it was time to start the walk (which we did not know about and we were still tired from the walk the day before) and it was going to take around 3 hours to walk. We were both a bit surprised but thought that it would not be too bad. We had a look at one of his broachers and it said that it was a medium to hard walk with a 30min up steps walk. I thought it would not be too bad and that was to scare most people off. We started the walk and there was some steps down were very steep but the view of the valley where great. The walk to us right in to the middle of nowhere at the bottom of the valley. As we were walking had jump across rocks trees mud sand water it was great fun. When we were at the very bottom we were next to a large stream which we had to cross lots of times this was fun as some of the rocks moved and some were very slippery. After a few hours i was starting to get a bit tired and we did not have that much more to do then the guide said that we have reached the end and all we have to do was climb out and he said to my horror that it was around a 30 minute walk up the steps. So we started enthusiastically and i still thought that i would not be that bad. After about 10 minutes the guide said that we could go in front as we were younger and fitter and me being me raced off still thinking it won’t be that bad well after another 10 minutes i was ready to die it was very steep and there was hundreds of steps and you would think you were at the end and you would turn the corner and there were more steps but i had to keep on going i finally made it to the top i was so happy that it was all over and i could get back in the car and he would drive home.
The next few days we just spent relaxing and just doing small things. On the night before last we decided that we would take some pictures of the city from the other side which came out very well then we head back in and when to the Sydney sky tower revolving restraint which towers about the whole city and the view are amazing and the food was very good.
Then it was time to leave Australia we had a 2 hour flight to New Zealand so a nice short one and have arrived at the hostel which we are here for 3 nights. We haven’t do much here in the first 2 days as it is cold and rain we are just hoping that i will not last.
Over the next 3 weeks we will be starting a bus tour around New Zealand called the Kiwi experience and i have no idea where i will be staying or going so depending on places i might not be able to upload pictures or any blogs. I will add them when i get chance.
Speak to you soon
