Hello again! We have arrived in New Zealand now - in Christchurch at the mo for 2 days then we are off in our van on the road to nowhere!! The van is cool - compact but cosy - like a miniature caravan its cool, we have a bed, table which spins and rocks(now who has a table like that in ya home) a small TV thanks to Uncle Lesley which is in black and white(now i know how u felt dad Jones then again and Pete and Geoff) and we have a little sink to wash up its all a bit gay!!! We both had a spin in it yesterday we flew to do our Monday big shop to get some roller cola cause we cant afford the good stuff ASDAs own or Tesco's finest!!! Anyway enough bout that we will keep u updated more and take some pics along the way!!!
We said to Australia on the !4th we had a cool time travelling up the East Coast and down to Melbourne!!! Our last week in OZ was cool we stayed with Laura's Uncle Lesley and Vera who were really nice and made us welcome. When we arrived
to Melbourne we headed to Lesleys beach house in Rye stopping off at Frankston Station which is OZ answer to Crewe!!! That evening we met wiv them both and they treated us to a meal in a nice restaurant as laura had told lesley she had lived on pasta for 2 months which is true so we had some good meals apart from one which was crap and we all had a dig at the chef wally!!! After seeing many sites of Rye they took us to see some scenic spots around the area the coastline was really beautiful(laura's words i would say rockin) When we arrived in Melbourne we first checked out the city which is much different to Sydney its more old fashioned wiv cool buildings and trams thru the streets! We then went on a trip down the Great Ocean Road which was amazing - the road is bout 300km and it follows the coastline all the way round. Along the way we stopped off at different points to take some snaps we got to see the 12 Apostles which are big rocks in the middle of the sea which have broken away from the main land,
sadly they are slowly falling - think there are only 8 which are left standing. We took a short trip up the coastline to a spot called London Bridge which is a rock form like the London Bridge (surprisingly!!) there used to be two arches joined together but in the early 90s one collapsed while 2 Chinese tourists were on the other side stranded!! During the tour we had a driver with a monotone voice which made us both ill with a migraine, he just repeated himself over n over even about where toilets were ha ha!
The next day there was a freak heat wave (46 degrees!) so we couldnt stay out for long as the air burnt our airways!! We went out at night instead to a place called Draculas - a gothic cabaret night!! Yes, sounds strange but it was really fun! The building was gothed up like a haunted house and we rode on a ghost train to get to the restaurant! All the staff were dressed up in gothic gear with make up & crazy wigs! We had a 3 course meal including a chocolate coffin for dessert!! The show was funny as hell(!)
but extremely random and quite offensive. For example, they were taking the mick out of bald people constantly (deforestation was a termed used at one point!!) and nicknamed a long haired asian lad as "Jesus, but a little bit Chocolate!!" as well as asking him whether she had spoken to him on the fone! As for the acts, they ranged from a Beatles medley to a 70s porno sketch (with real footage?!) In all the show was hilarious & we wont see anythin like it again!!
Other than that we did the usual museums, markets, park etc to finish off the week. Unfortunately the Neighbours tour was not to be as it was all booked up (boohoo!) we could have got a spot on Sunday but there would have been no actors(emily and sarah i know how much u wanted a signed pic of Dr Kennedy and big H Bishop, also matt there was no madge!!!) so we knocked it on the head!!! On Sunday evening we went for a last meal with Lesley and Vera which was really nice it was a Nepalese joint. We were sad to leave OZ as its a beautiful place and we will
hopefully return one day as there is lots more to see!!!
So, until next time love to all, miss you as always & we will leave you with a little song...
"Don't no where we're going,
Got no way of knowing,
Driving on the road to nowhere
Sponging for a living,
Checking out the women, (I think not!)
Riding on the road to nowhere
And we don't take s**t from anyone,
The only the thing we wanna do is have some fun
We're Ross & Morag,
Morag & Ross
And most of all we hope we don't get lost!!"

Looking forward to your arrival in Wellington
Hi Laura and Chris, Not long now and you will be sailing into Wellington Harbour - the most beautiful Harbour in the whole world. Congratulations on your New Year engagement - great news and yes we knew too !! We are glad that you are having a great time in New Zealand and look forward to showing a bit more of it when you arrive in the capital. The long term forecast for the weather the next couple of weeks is good so you will be able to add to your suntan to make the family jealous when you get home. We've got a guest room that you are welcome to take advantage of while you are in Wellington if you like and it is likely to be a bit cooler for sleeeping and a change from the camper which can park on our section here. Until next week when we see you Lots of love in anticipation. Gloria and David Friday 26 Jan xxxxx
