Amazing Vista's
Lots of steps to reach the top. We are being lucky so far with the winter weather. Although it is a mixture of cold and wet, we are having some beautiful days of sunshine, blue sky's and no wind. Cold but lovely.
On one of these magic days I meet up with Annemarie and two friends so that we could walk a part of the Te Araroa Trail. This is a trail that starts at the top of NZ at Cape Reinga and finishes at Bluff in the deep south. It covers 3000 km's and is a very diverse trail that has taken shape over the years. View "Te Araroa ,New Zealand Trail." Very rugged and high in areas, especially in the South Island, and challenging.
But the 10km's that we were to walk this day was from Pukerua Bay to Paekakariki, not far from were I live and requiring a reasonable fitness level as there are hundreds of very steep steps leading up to the top at 220 mts above sea level then down again. A great day and a wonderful way to burn of some energy while looking at the views. Not to much talking on the way up but nice to have company
The Start Of The Track.
Annemarie, john and Graham all ready to go. to share the views with. I wouldn't want to trip on the steps as I think you may end up right down the bottom of the hill. It is in parts very very straight down.
We have also been up to the Hawkes Bay to visit the kids and then onto stay with Pam and Warwick in Gisborne for 3 days. Great to catch up with them and spend time together.
Di is due for her knee replacement in early July, so our time will be spent in getting her back into her walking mode so it will be a bit of a quite time over the next couple of months. Pip/Rod
