Before being encased in mud
Just arrived in Wellington. Not quite sure yet why everyone raves about it. Seems like there are zillions of young people and tourists. But I ll reserve judgement till I've been on cable car tomorrow.

Well Rotorua really got to me. Very soulless and a general air of despondency. Also it was raining. Spent few hours being smothered in mud and then soaked in suphur pool. Lovely for skin but not so great for silver jewellery!!! So we decided to move on to Napier. Thank goodness!!! On the way went to see geothermal area. Quite amazing!

Napier Art Deco City. Buildings rebuilt after the earthquake in 1931 in art deco style. Some great shops with vintage clothes and jewellery. Gorgeous little place, sun shining, lovely motel. Found yoga studio... another plus. Went to 2 fab beaches and wandered the town! Oh and ate a lot!

And so we dragged ourselves from Napier vowing to return.

One day here in Wellington with weather forecast promising rain!!!! Next day long train journey to Auckland which is supposed to be a fab experience. We are staying outside Auckland on the coast for last 2days in NZ.

What a wonderful country this
