from Mt Vic
Wellington seems as if it was an age ago now!
Our 3 days in the capital were over the Easter weekend - On arrival we saw the city from the Mount Victoria viewpoint and then we kickstarted our stay here with a night out in Blend bar. Our driver advised us that this is the place to be on a thursday night as the ladies get free bubbly between certain times - excellent! It was a bit of a change to be in a busy bar in a city after the small towns (Even though it wasn't that long ago that we were in Auckland)
We are also proud to say that we had our first Jagerbombs and loved them! Now, for those of you who don't know what we're talking about - a shot of Jagermeister dropped into redbull.

After a morning of recovery (!) we walked along the harbour to new Zealand's National Museum - Te papa, it was huuuge with 6 floors. Very informative! The cable car took us upto the Botanic Gardens which were probably the steepest we have ever seen. We also strolled around Lambton Quay, Cuba St (the alternative area of Welly) and

Civic Square. Silver fern
Oriental parade where they have a man made beach.

So that was wellington and the last of the North island!
