Never laughed so much .... thanks Dave!!!

Well after a night of drinking, dancing and all the other usual night out mischief we decided the best way to clear the old cobwebs is to get right out there in the windiest place in N.Z. put on a pair of of oversized plastic boots which have four wheels attached to them and investigate what this city has to offer during daylight hours (of which there are few - remember it is winter here). Yep you guessed it we went roller-blading. I have found out the most fun way to enjoy roller-blading if you are an experienced skater is to take with you not just one person that has never skated before instead put a few not so confident folk on wheels first thing in the morning after a heavy night of beer cocktails and the like.

To help you imagine the outcome of that tragic mix, imagine the scene from Bambi when he finds a frozen pond for the first time combine this with perhaps an embarrissing uncle dancing at a family function and throw in some of the most painful scenes from Jack Ass and You've Been Framed and you are almost there. $15 for 2hrs skate hire was the best entertainment I have had in N.Z. to date and the best part is I also had my camera with me - not only did I get a few still images but I imagined to capture one of the lads, Dave who fell almost every 2min on video. Unfortunately I did not have the camera handy when he skated through the cones and into a 6ft trench recently dug by workmen nor the time when he suddenly went off course towards a chinese man and almost pushed him in the harbour in front of a restaurant full of on-lookers, and how I wished I had the camera out when he was holding for his life onto a lamp-post while his legs were slipping from under him.
