Patea Coolstores

The old coolstores in Patea used to be an exciting place to explore and take photos. However, time and the weather have caused them to deteriorate so badly that they have been fenced off and cannot be accessed due to being dangerous. I would hate to see them be pulled down but that may end up being the only option for them.

I am very grateful I got to explore them so many times over the years, ignoring the dangers (and the hundreds of pigeons) and pretending I was fit enough to make my way through them safely. It was difficult to see huge changes each time, especially with everything that was stolen from them.

They are still worth looking at and you can take good photos of them from across the river.
