RiverRiverRiver

The river that we nearly did but didn't raft down!!
River Valley is very very small , in fact it consists of one building, or as they call it an adventure lodge. This is apparantly the wilderness, although such a thing does not exisit in a country as small as New Zealand.

We had one night here to take advantage of the excellent grade 5 white water rafting on offer!!! We sat through one night with everybody getting drunk whilst we stayed sobor so we could at least not drown the next day. They showed us videos of the rafting which looked really really good!!

But......the next day the river was flooded (apparantly) and rafting was cancelled, although the staff seemed pretty merry the night before and looked very ill the next day. What a waste of time that was. Doh!
