Hamilton

Left Mt Maunganui to make our way over to Hamilton to meet up with friends, Bek & Rich, who have recently left the UK to live in NZ.

Drove out to Bridal Veil Falls. Water plummets 55 metres down a sheer rock face into a green pool; some droplets evaporate before they hit the bottom, creating a shimmering veil. Drove on to Raglan where we had a 'breezy' picnic by the water, trying hard not to lose the paper plates and salad leaves to the wind.

Onto lake Taupo tomorrow, on a quest to find a hot-pool to soak in to warm up our chilled bones after several days of rain and wind. The summer is just around the corner.... we hope!
